Turley’s Books stemmed from a concept Paul had while working remotely on a minesite in the Pilbara. Reading bedtime stories to his baby daughter while on RNR in Perth, the ideas for his books began to manifest, making note, one day he hoped to bring them to life.

In 2024 Paul began to write “Children’s Books - Enjoyed by Adults” and the concept of Turley’s Books became a reality.

Brief background/biography:

Born in Sydney in 1982. Paul Turley enjoyed English throughout high school and always journalled, particularly poetry, continuing to write throughout young adulthood. Paul was incarcerated for 2.5years following a fatal car accident in 2004. He wrote continuously while away for this crime.

Today he speaks about his accident, teaching others of the dangers of driving under the influence while mentoring young people. To build resilience, make better decisions in their own lives and work towards becoming the best version of themselves.

Paul founded Not for Profit Charity: ‘What4 Services’ in 2024 to honour the memory of his victim Mr Yuk Wai Leung.

30% of all profits from the sale of this book go back into the charity to allow What4 Services to work with groups and schools that most need their support.

Style of writing:

Turley’s style is rhyming/poetry with a witty/clever twist. He takes a concept and thinks of all things that are quintessentially relating to that theme and then plots out story with a common theme, utilizing rhyming words to end out each stanza.

He uses ideas which are relatable to his own life and also to that of many parents and adults, dealing with the joys but also daily battles of parenthood and family life.
